Sometimes you need to return to places where nothing has changed to understand how you yourself have changed.. After 3 years, I returned as a photographer to the annual 🏃♀️ "Dzheyrakh" race to the most beautiful cliffs of Mount Stolovaya from the Ingushetia side.
I took pictures the country's strongest skyrunners for two days, April 19 and 20, 2025: on the vertical kilometer distance and at the 18 km race. On Saturday I caught everyone at the finish line, on Sunday I started from the highest point - the Myat-seli temple, and then moved down to meet the runners along the picturesque rocky part of the route. In this episode, my most merciless fight with time happened in an attempt to catch the people rushing past as much as possible. It would seem that the speed of my movement was low, but the very fact of its presence and counter-direction made me feel completely different in the process than just being at a point. I was literally fighting for every meter in search of new angles, when the persistent flow did not want to give me a break for movement. An interesting fact: a herd of yaks was grazing on the mountain slopes, and right on the path lay two relatively fresh horned heads.
I've recently started using two cameras at once📷 — I can manage to take pictures of one athlete with different lenses. Despite the fact that I'm trying hard to switch to lightweight mirrorless cameras, the picture on a heavy Nikon top DSLR is still noticeably better. I don't even know what to do with it. So, as the saying goes, “I wanted the best, but it turned out as always”: I bought a mirrorless camera to make myself lighter, and now I’m dragging around two cameras. 😂😅
