"On the ridge of the monster". This photo was taken during an expedition 2020 to a new mountain region of Buryatia in Russia. A few minutes after I took this picture, we completed the first ascent, folded the tour at the top and named it "The Monster"
"Carelessness". This photo was taken in 2014 near the Chekunda village of the Khabarovsk Territory at the end of a 6-day rafting, which began on the Tuyun River. This settlement stood on the banks of the Bureya River until at the beginning of the 21st century a decision was made to expand the Bureya reservoir. The decision was made, but all preparation measures were not followed - the result was the phenomenon depicted in the photo - a huge amount of destroyed and uncleared floating forest made land hardly accessible from the water. It also radically changed the microclimate of the place and the quality of the water. Later in 2019, the village was resettled due to the threat of flooding.
